Custom Photo Puzzle — Printed & Laser-Cut Wood

Your photo, printed in full color onto real wood and cut into pieces one at a time.

This isn't a cardboard puzzle with a photo glued to the front. The image is printed directly into the wood, then a laser cuts every piece individually — so the edges are crisp, the fit is snug, and each piece has the faint warm scent and weight of actual timber. Pieces don't peel, delaminate, or go soft if someone sets a drink down.

Because the cut is done by light rather than a die, every puzzle we make is cut fresh for that image. Nothing is stamped out of a mold.

5 × 7 in — 48 pieces

An evening puzzle. Small enough to finish on a coffee table in one sitting, and the piece count keeps it friendly for kids and for anyone who wants the keepsake more than the challenge. Good stocking stuffer, good "thinking of you" gift.

8 × 10 in — 108 pieces

The one most people want. Fills a real table, takes a real evening or two, and the larger print area means faces and details read clearly once the pieces are apart. This is the size to pick for a family photo or a portrait you want recognizable.

Both sizes fit standard photo proportions, so most images crop naturally without losing anyone at the edges.

Upgrade: random cut with hidden whimsy pieces

Our standard puzzle is ribbon cut — pieces sit on a regular grid, the way most puzzles do. Solvable in an evening, and a good gift for anyone.

The random-cut upgrade throws the grid out. Cut lines wander, no two pieces are the same size or shape, and you can't guess what comes next — the way the old wooden puzzles were made. It's noticeably harder and takes noticeably longer, which is either the appeal or the warning depending on who you're buying for.

Random-cut puzzles also include hidden whimsy pieces: individual pieces cut into recognizable silhouettes, tucked into the image where you won't find them until you get there. There's always a schnauzer in ours somewhere.

Upload after checkout. What works best:

• Horizontal photos for horizontal puzzles — we'll crop, but you lose edges
• Sharp focus and good light; blurry photos get more obvious as pieces
• Strong contrast and clear shapes throughout the image
• Avoid photos with large areas of flat sky, snow, or plain wall — those sections become nearly impossible and stop being fun
  We'll email you a preview of the crop before anything is cut.

A note on the look

Laser cutting leaves a fine dark line along every cut edge. It's a feature, not a flaw — it outlines each piece and makes the finished puzzle look hand-made rather than mass-produced. If you want a completely uniform edge, a die-cut cardboard puzzle is the better choice, and we'll say so honestly.

Keep it dry. Wipe with a dry cloth only. Not intended for children under 3 — small pieces.
